There probably isn't a dog owner in the world that thinks their dog should be a star. Probably everyone thinks their dog has what it takes to be a TV star. Who blames them? Generally you will always think your dog is the greatest, no different than if they were your own child. If you think your dog is the most awesome critter to grace the face on earth, you're not alone.
But just because everyone else thinks that way about their dog, doesn't mean that your little Dachshund or Pug doesn't deserve his own fifteen or more minutes of stardom and fame. If you really want to show your guy off take advantage of all the technology that's available to you and share him with the world and who knows, it might get him that TV fame you're looking for.
The first thing you need to do of course is take pictures and videos of your dog as much as you can. If you have a video camera, try setting it up somewhere in your house so you can catch some candid videos of him or in the yard when he's outside being himself. You might be surprised at wonders you might capture on video. If he does do tricks, record it, if he interacts with other pets and people in a cute way, record it. And if he's not doing something, try to make him do something - remember you are in charge of the project.
Once you think you have pretty cute and funny video then it's time to expose your darling to the world. One of the best ways to do this is to become a member of YouTube and upload your videos there. After you have uploaded your videos, make sure that you come up with titles that are going to catch the attention of the viewer. You definitely don't want a title as boring as "Here's My Dog Playing". Not exactly a title that's going to peak anyone's interest. If you are lucky enough to get a lot of hits, these are generally the videos that have a shot of hitting television.
After you have your videos displayed don't be afraid to promote your dog by putting links to the videos in the signatures of your email accounts and if you belong to a social network don't be afraid to share there, including embedding the video right on your social network site. If your video is worth watching no one is going to mind if you email it to them or have it on your network.
If you really want to get into promoting your dog go a head and create either a blog or an entire website to your loveable little companion. You can include the videos, cute stills and a lot of banter about your little darling.
It is not uncommon that when your local TV stations find themselves having a slow news day that they will try to find some cute human interest things to share with their viewers so if you really feel your dog is ready, contact your local TV station and ask them if they'd like some great video of your dog for their programming when they need filler items for their news broadcasts. You might be surprised at the response you will get.
Don't forget that you can also send your videos into a variety of TV shows about funny and clever animals - there are plenty of them worldwide - and they are always looking for great animal clips. These are great ways to get your dog national attention.
Who knows, all your efforts one day might bring Hollywood knocking at your door and your little pooch could be off to California to make a name for himself.
